This webinar will begin with an overview by Natural Resources Canada scientist Lisa Venier of the\u00a0work that she and her team are doing on J.D. Irving land in New Brunswick\u00a0<\/u><\/a>and will continue this summer in Maine, deploying auto-acoustic devices to record and monitor forest songbirds.<\/p>\n

Following this talk, Adrienne Leppold of the Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife and Glen Mittelhauser of the Maine Natural History Observatory\u00a0will describe the\u00a0Maine Bird Atlas<\/a><\/u>\u00a0project, an ambitious 5-year effort to survey all breeding and wintering birds across the entire state of Maine that will begin this summer. This initiative will be a largely citizen science effort.<\/p>\n

There will be time for questions following their presentations.<\/p>\n

This webinar will be held on\u00a0April 25th, 2018 from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m<\/strong>.\u00a0EDT\u00a0<\/strong>using Zoom web conferencing software.<\/p>\n

Lisa Venier, PhD\u00a0<\/strong>is a research scientist at the Great Lakes Forestry Centre in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, which is part of Natural Resources Canada<\/p>\n

Adrienne Leppold, PhD<\/strong>\u00a0is the Project Director for the Maine Bird Atlas Project through the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife<\/p>\n
