Generally, the CFRU is able to fund 8-10 projects\/FY that are 2-3 years in length, with annual project funding approximately $20-40K\/year. We have approximately $100K in funding available for the next fiscal year. Please note the CFRU&#8217;s fiscal year is changing to align with the University&#8217;s fiscal year and will run July 1st, 2022 &#8211; June 30th, 2023.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Proposed research should be related to areas that fall within the five major themes stipulated in the 2020-2025 CFRU Program Prospectus. Attached are pages from the prospectus that outline those themes.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><b>Al<\/b>l pre-proposals are to be submitted via Google Forms: <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/forms\/d\/16UYz2aZ5CrAyXcCGoF2BlkUsRxoJZ2TO3T89jPOB8a4\/edit?ts=61a79f60\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/docs.google.com\/forms\/d\/16UYz2aZ5CrAyXcCGoF2BlkUsRxoJZ2TO3T89jPOB8a4\/edit?ts%3D61a79f60&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1639664808688000&amp;usg=AOvVaw2MRJzV9dCGGlB5Exqmdl3_\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, sans-serif\">https:\/\/docs.google.com\/forms\/d\/16UYz2aZ5CrAyXcCGoF2BlkUsRxoJZ2TO3T89jPOB8a4\/edit?ts=61a79f60<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The attached pre-proposal template stipulates the information we require for the pre-proposal.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Please note:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">It is to your advantage to keep the pre-proposals on the short side&#8211;the more concise and easy-to-read it is, the better it will hold the cooperators&#8217; attention!<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">We have 10% overhead costs at the CFRU, so please remember to factor that into your estimated costs.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Members have strong preference for projects that leverage past CFRU efforts and\/or other additional external funding sources.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Involvement of undergraduate and graduate students is viewed as favorable yet not required.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Current FY funding requests (starting May 1, 2022) can be accommodated and should be justified in the proposal.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Pre-proposals are due on January 1, 2022.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Pre-proposals will be submitted to the CFRU advisory committee to be ranked prior to the January 27th advisory committee meeting.
