Lecture by Ann Little (Colorado State Univ.), \u201cThe Many Captivities of Esther Wheelwright: Communities of Women in the Northeast Borderlands\u201d in the Bumps Room of the Student Union, Thursday, Oct. 3 from noon to 1:30 pm (with free lunch!).<\/p>\n

Emphasizes the methodology in writing about a person with little traditional historical evidence to document her life, and the connections and continuities she forged across linguistic, religious, and cultural borders in the eighteenth-century northeast. Ann Little\u2019s 2016 Yale Univ. Press book, \u201cThe Many Captivities of Esther Wheelwright: Communities of Women in the Northeast Borderlands\u201d won the biennial Corey Prize of the American Historical Association and the Canadian Historical Association as the best book in Canadian-US history.<\/p>\n
