Canadian Studies Faculty Chosen as 2023 Artist in Residence at Acadia National Park

, Canadian studies faculty and assistant professor of English at the University of Maine, has been selected as one of 13 artists selected for Acadia National Park鈥檚 in 2023. Adams is the author of the novel 鈥淭hings You鈥檝e Inherited from Your Mother鈥 and the hybrid prose-poetry chapbook 鈥淒eliver Me from Swedish Furniture,鈥 which was a finalist for the bpNichol Chapbook Award. She is the current fiction editor of聽The Windsor Review,聽and her prose and poetry have appeared across Canada in publications including聽The Malahat Review,听The Temz Review,听Contemporary Verse 2,听Room, and more! She will spend the year making frequent trips to Mount Desert Island to work on a collection of poems on the topic of Acadia in the Anthropocene that will investigate the effects of climate change and the human impact on the park鈥檚 landscape.
