Consortium Provides Area Studies Faculty with Course Development Grants

Proposals from four 91¸£Àû faculty were selected for revision with course development grants:

  • Dr. Hollie Adams (English) will redesignÌýCanadian LiteratureÌý(ENG 336) as a topics course in Canadian Literary Modernism.
  • Karen Miller, M.A. (Anthropology)Ìý will reviseÌýIntroduction to FolkloreÌý(ANT 221) andÌýThe U.S. Folklore ExperienceÌý(ANT 330) to include significant Canadian content.Ìý In addition, she will assign students in both classes to contribute to an ARCGIS mapping project to plot the folklore they collect with linkable points.
  • Dr. Micah PawlingÌý(History) will significantly reviseÌýAmerindians of the Northeast: A History (HTY 481) to include research in collaboration with Native communities in present-day Canada.
  • Dr. Stefano TijerinaÌý(Maine Business School) will redesign the in-person courseÌýCanadian-U.S. Business: A ComparisonÌý(MGT 328 / ECO 340) to offer it as an online option.
