SUMMARY:Garden Fest & Fun Run at Rogers Farm
DESCRIPTION:University of Maine Cooperative Extension will host its annual Rogers Farm Demonstration Garden Fest and Fun Run on Saturday\, September 12\, from 10 a.m.–1 p.m. at 914 Bennoch Road in Old Town. The event is free and open to the public\, with a rain date of Sunday\, September 13. \nVisitors can explore more than 30 themed gardens and enjoy a variety of hands-on activities\, including tastings\, art in the garden and building and racing a veggie vehicle. The event also offers opportunities to learn about pollinator-friendly gardening\, eating seasonally\, soil testing and cover crops. \nA rainbow-themed fun run for youth ages 12 and younger will begin at 11 a.m. Children can arrive early to create a wand or banner to carry during the run and take home as a keepsake. \nThe Rogers Farm Demonstration Garden is a 2-acre teaching garden operated by University of Maine Cooperative Extension.
