Fermentation Expo: Science, Art, Fun, and the Stories In Between

Fermentation Friday brings to you our first ever Fermentation Expo! Come and experience food systems, storytelling, microbial science, and creative crafts like “wearing your ferments” by dyeing fabric with vegetables. Student leaders will offer hands-on fermentation tutorials, host a SCOBY Petting Zoo, and set up microscopes to view active cultures up close. Community members are invited to table and share their own cultures through live demonstrations, field journals, multimedia, or artistic installations. This inclusive Expo invites everyone to explore the expansive, vibrant world of fermentation in a fun and welcoming setting. Fermented refreshments will be available for you to try!
